Life is a poem is really two books:  One, the autobiography of a gifted women-poet, violinist, music therapist; wife ad mother.  Two a book of poetry by Evelyn Brill Stark written over a period of 70 years.

The reader will discover  woman who wrote poems about literally everything that touched her life, starting when she was a young girl.  In the process, she has become a widely recognized poet, now a part of New Age in her old age.

Evelyn exchanged whimsical love letters with a Barnard College professor, nearly married noted American composer William Schuman, corresponded with Robert Nathan, Author of Portrait of Jennie, and became a devoted follower and friend of Joel Goldsmith, modern mystic and spiritual leader.

She became a major force in music therapy in New York as a violinist and recording artist.  As a violinist, she owned three important instruments:  an Amati (the teacher of Stradivarius), a Gragnani, and a Carcassi, all now in use and on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Editor Bob Cumming notes in his preface that "there is a timeless quality to Life is a Poem.  It involves a life full of music and petry, and poems full of a life well lived"
