The Author has provided explicit driving (and hiking) directions to forty-seven of the best sites in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Baja Mexico, Utah, Calforinia and Texas. In most cases the motorist can follow the site maps and drive to within a few feet of the rock art.

About the Author: 

Robin Scott Bicknell is a respected Archaeologist for more than 30 years. He has recorded rockart sites with Retired Professor of Anthrogpoloy Dr.Clemens W. Meighan for the UCLA Rock Art Archives. His name Robin 1 is recorded in the San Diego archives for a Native American site found during one of his surveys. Mr. Bicknell a well-known Artist and Photographer has photographed with Al Weber, a friend and colleague of Ansel Adams, who taught with Adams at Yosemite for 18 years. Mr. Bicknell exibits his artwork thoughout the nation and abroad and consist of Photographs of rock art and hand etched rock art. He donates his time teaching the meaning of protecting these rock art sites and has not only given seminars but has visited schools, boyscouts, and outdoor events educating people the importance of these sites. He served his country during the Vietnam War receiving numerous metals for his service. He has been a member of the Elks Lodge for eight years and a member of E Clamppus Vitus for 20 years. E Clampus Vitus established by miners at the diggings around Hangtown (placerville} California in 1850. This benevolent organization, which spread through the Sierras, gave aid to fellow miners, their widows, and orphans and still practice till this day. Both organization {Elks & Clampers} practice this and he is proud of belonging to both.  He signed this book with ECV under his signature on the title page.
